AWAFN is largely run by volunteers, and we are always looking for skilled people to support our community.
Office Administration and Support
AWAFN office opens Monday to Wednesday every week. There you can meet and greet new organisation participants, answer phone & email inquiries. You may also liaison with different project groups and our Board. There is an opportunity to learn about grant application, project reporting and governance filing.
Website Maintenance
AWAFN is seeking the help of a person(s) skilled in website maintenance. Your digital skills will be a great help!
Student Placement
When we have capacity AWAFN welcome students requesting opportunities to complete your placement.
Training
Come and support us in delivering successful training programs in:
• Leadership
• Building migrant/refugee women's voices within the community
• Support our members into work
• Prevention of family violence
• Gender equity
CALD Advocacy Forum Participants
AWAFN participates in several forums of peak bodies and are always looking for people to join us, as we seek to improve the lives of Victorian African Australians in areas of employment, housing, education, health, and social inclusion.
Communications and Marketing
AWAFN has several communication platforms that include; web, e-newsletter, social media and printed material. As a volunteer, you can contribute as a writer, editor and social media monitor, as well as coordinating and producing our printed materials.

AWAFN holds many events throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for you to join our events coordinator and take part in many of our community events.
Membership & volunteer drive
Promoting AWAFN programs & inviting people to be a part of AWAFN by word of mouth, sending membership forms via email & encouraging members to register & pay membership fees.
